He may be one of the NFL's most composed quarterbacks, but at home, he still knows how to keep his wife on her toes. As the Buffalo Bills star marked a milestone birthday, he shared a funny detail about life with his other half.
Josh Allen, who turned 30 on May 21, 2026, opened up about marriage, fatherhood, and his evolving outlook as he and Hailee Steinfeld approach their first wedding anniversary.

During a May 21 appearance on the "Centered on Buffalo" podcast with retired Bills center Eric Wood, Allen gave a lighthearted look at one of Steinfeld's apparent pet peeves, sharing:
"Anytime she tries to, like, if I got something in my beard or my mustache and she goes to reach for it, I always, like, bark and snap."
He explained that the habit came from his father, who used to do the same thing when his children touched his facial hair. "We'd be little kids touching the whiskers on his face and he'd be like argh, you know?" Allen recalled.
For the quarterback, the joke had become almost impossible to pass up. He admitted that Steinfeld still fell for it "every single time." "It's like, it's there for the taking and I have to take it," he added.

Wood then turned the question back on the football star, asking what Steinfeld did that counted as one of his pet peeves. However, the athlete knew better than to take the bait. "Absolutely nothing, Eric," Allen replied with a smirk. "What are you trying to do here? What are you trying to do to me?"
Allen and Hailee Steinfeld, 29, are nearing their first wedding anniversary on May 31, and they are doing so with a major new role in their lives: parenthood. On April 2, Steinfeld announced the arrival of their daughter in a Substack post titled "Special Delivery." She wrote:
"Our baby girl has arrived!! We're feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savouring these early moments. Thank you so much for the love and well wishes."
The announcement marked a private but joyful moment for the couple, who have largely kept their family life out of the spotlight.
As Allen prepares for his ninth NFL season, the quarterback recently said becoming a father had shifted the reason behind his drive to win. While speaking to reporters in Orchard Park, New York, he said his competitive mindset remained the same, but his motivation had deepened. He said:
"That want to win will never change. The why I want to do it has."
Allen explained that he now wanted to set an example for his daughter by showing her the work required to reach a major goal. "And as long as I play this game, that's going to be my mindset," he added.
The Bills quarterback also said fatherhood had changed his perspective and made him excited about what was ahead, both on and off the field. "I do think this is going to be the best version of myself in all aspects in my professional career and personal life," Allen said. "It's such a blessing."
As for turning 30, Allen did not seem too worried. Instead, he joked that his athletic peak might still be ahead of him. "And then hopefully the dad strength kicks in, right?" he shared.
