Hailee Steinfeld Opens Up About Unusual Home Routines with Josh Allen
April 14, 2026

Rumer Willis is speaking candidly about the realities of raising her daughter while navigating public scrutiny. The actress shares how she handles criticism, acknowledges her unique upbringing, and explains why parenting debates have become unavoidable.
Rumer Willis is no stranger to public attention, but when it comes to parenting, she says the scrutiny can feel especially intense. The actress recently spoke about raising her 3-year-old daughter Louetta while managing criticism from online audiences.
Willis has been vocal about standing up for her choices, particularly when faced with unsolicited opinions. She explained that her goal is not to ignore criticism entirely, but to find common ground where possible.
"My goal is not to try and behave in this way that seems like I'm totally unconscious of what's going on," Rumer exclusively told E! News at the Environmental Working Group and Know Your Value annual Earth Day dinner on April 22, 2026. "But I'm really trying to find the places that are the same — that we can connect, that we can support each other."
She acknowledged that maintaining that balance is not always easy. "I might not do that the best sometimes," she continued. "Honestly, some days, it's just a challenge. We're all trying to figure out how to be understood, how to be seen. You can have a day where somebody pops off and it doesn't bother me and sometimes, it really does."
As the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, Rumer is aware that her upbringing differs from many others. She addressed this openly, noting that it shapes how her experiences are perceived.
Though she acknowledges her privilege, the 37-year-old doesn't deny the fact that she is still struggling as a single mother. "I've just grown up different and there will always be a divide with certain things. I can say I'm struggling as a single mom but there's just a level that's different. I understand that," she said.
Despite what others say, Willis made it clear that she is the "sole provider" for her daughter. She admitted to working 4 jobs to provide for Louetta, and does not live off of a trust fund from her parents, nor does she ask for any funding support from them.
She made the clarification after people on Instagram began making comments under a post about being a single mom that she had previously posted.
Yet again acknowledging her privilege, Willis said that there are certain realities she would not be able to experience. Still, it doesn't discount the fact that she is indeed a single mother and does not live life treating her rich parents as a "backup plan."
