The Pussycat Dolls’ decision to cancel most of their North American tour dates reportedly came after disappointing ticket sales, according to insiders. The group’s planned comeback had already surprised some industry observers, many of whom questioned whether enough demand remained for a major arena tour.

According to insiders who spoke with Page Six, concerns over weak ticket sales reportedly played a major role in the decision.

The news came just months after reports first surfaced that the group would reunite for a world tour, marking one of the most unexpected pop comeback announcements in recent years.

Industry Insiders Reportedly Questioned the Tour From the Start

Sources familiar with the music business told Page Six many industry observers were surprised the reunion tour was happening at all.

The Pussycat Dolls have largely remained out of the spotlight since disbanding more than 16 years ago. It has also been years since the release of their second and final album, “Domination.”

“When we announced the PCD Forever Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world,” the group said in a now-deleted statement announcing the cancellations. “After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North American dates.”

The remaining scheduled appearance is set to take place during the OUTLOUD Music Festival for WeHo Pride in Los Angeles on June 6, 2026.

Only Three Members Were Included in the Reunion

The reunion lineup featured only three members of the original group: Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts.

The scaled-back roster reportedly added to questions surrounding the tour’s commercial appeal.

One source familiar with ticket sales described the group as a “low-ticket audience brand,” suggesting ticket prices would have needed to remain relatively inexpensive in order to attract enough fans to fill larger venues.

The insider claimed arena-level demand simply did not appear strong enough to support the planned run.

Rising Ticket Prices Continue Hurting Touring Artists

The Pussycat Dolls are not the only artists who have recently faced tour difficulties.

The entertainment industry has increasingly seen performers cancel shows or entire tours amid concerns over sluggish ticket sales and changing fan spending habits.

Recent cancellations involving artists such as Meghan Trainor, Zayn Malik, and Post Malone have fueled speculation among fans about the state of the live music business.

While some artists publicly cite scheduling conflicts, work obligations, or family matters when postponing tours, online discussions often turn toward questions about ticket demand.

Fans have repeatedly criticized the rising price of concert tickets in recent years, especially for arena and stadium shows.

Superstar-Level Demand Remains Difficult to Match

Although artists like Taylor Swift and BTS continue selling out stadiums worldwide, and drawing in massive crowds, industry observers say maintaining that level of demand is increasingly difficult for many performers.

Sources familiar with touring economics pointed out that even well-known acts can struggle to fill large venues if public interest fades or ticket costs become too high.

The term “Blue Dot Fever” has circulated within the industry, referring to large numbers of unsold seats that remain visible on ticketing maps ahead of performances. The Pussycat Dolls’ situation became one example of that growing trend.

The Group Once Dominated Pop Music

Led by Nicole Scherzinger, the group became known for combining pop music with elaborate choreography and high-profile live performances.

At the height of their popularity, they were considered one of the biggest girl groups in the world and regularly topped charts internationally.

However, years away from the spotlight created challenges for rebuilding mainstream momentum.

Music trends have also shifted dramatically since the group’s original success, with streaming platforms and social media now playing major roles in determining commercial viability.

It remains unclear whether the Pussycat Dolls will attempt to reschedule additional performances or continue with international tour plans.

For now, the group’s North American comeback has been significantly scaled back, leaving fans wondering whether the reunion will continue beyond its remaining scheduled performance.
