The "Stranger Things" alum, who became a first-time mom after welcoming an adopted baby girl last year, is now opening up about the possibility of expanding her family further, including through pregnancy.
"Hopefully one day that's in my future," Brown told host Kylie Kelce on the June 11 episode of the "Not Gonna Lie" podcast. "But for me, adoption was always a part of my future. Adoption is love. Adoption is forever."
For Brown, adoption wasn't simply a practical choice — it was a lifelong ambition. She has spoken before about dreaming of adopting since childhood, and her passion for the process deepened when she pursued a social work education.
"The aspect of adoption in my social work courses was everything and so, so meaningful and important," she shared.
"Then I also learned speaking to and reading a lot about being a birth mother and what that journey is. So for me, my husband and I took a lot of time to focus on what that story and what that journey looks like and then we embarked it."
The road to parenthood wasn't without its difficulties. Brown described the waiting period as the hardest part — a stretch of uncertainty with little room to prepare. Even so, she used her platform to offer reassurance to others navigating the same path.
"I just would always just encourage you to understand every journey is different," she said. "Don't compare yourself to statistics and don't compare yourself to other families. And your baby's out there and you'll find each other."
Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi announced the arrival of their daughter in a social media statement in August 2025.
"This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption," the statement read. "We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy."
Since then, the couple have offered only occasional glimpses of their daughter online. In February, Brown marked her 22nd birthday with a photo of herself and the baby seated on a sandy beach at sunset with their backs to the camera.
Brown wore an oversized cream knit cardigan with a dog graphic on the back, while her daughter was dressed in a matching teddy bear onesie. "22. grateful for my husband and daughter. for my family and friends. all of my animals. I am so blessed. thank you for the birthday wishes. Xoxo," she wrote.
Also during the podcast episode, Brown pushed back against online speculation that Bongiovi isn't pulling his weight as a parent. The chatter stemmed from paparazzi shots in which Brown appears laden with bags, a car seat, and the baby, while Bongiovi walks alongside her empty-handed.
"I'm not gonna lie, when did women become incapable of holding their own bags, car seats and stuff?" Brown said. "This stems from me holding all of my suitcases and bags and my kid and people are like, 'Your husband doesn't hold a single thing.' Because I'm three miles ahead. I have been planning this all night."
She pointed out the contradiction in how the moment was framed. "We're all about empowering girls and, 'You got it' and 'You don't need a man,'" she continued. "But then when I'm like, 'Ok, I can carry my own things,' people are like, 'Where's your husband?'"
"I can do it on my own," she maintained.
Brown was equally firm in her defense of her husband's character. "Nobody knows my husband," she added. "My husband is the most polite, sweet, will-do-anything-for-me. But he also knows I'm capable."
