Cardi B Responds to Claims She Had Butt Injections Reversed

The Grammy winner took to social media to clear up confusion over her ever-changing figure, laying out exactly what work she has and hasn't had done. She also had a message for followers convinced her curves are being surgically maintained behind the scenes.

Cardi B is setting the record straight about the work she's had done. The rapper recently addressed ongoing speculation that she underwent yet another cosmetic procedure to have her butt injections dissolved.

Cardi discussed the matter during a recent Instagram Live session. She was just 21 years old when she received biopolymer injections, made from silicone-based fillers not approved by the FDA that can leak and cause other complications.

In a clip from the livestream, the artist said she last had surgery in 2024, when she had the injections reduced after starting the process back in 2022.

"A lot of y'all keep telling me to go get my [expletive] reduced," Cardi began. "I don't need to go get my [expletive] reduced, news flash, I did get my [expletive] reduced."

She went on to explain that liposuction isn't a simple fix for her, noting that her skin has grown looser over time, which is why, in her words, her figure moves so freely now.

According to Cleveland Clinic, liposuction refers to the procedure that uses suction to remove fat from targeted areas of the body — including the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, or neck — to reshape those regions.

"So if I just go and get a lipo reduction, that is the easy way, my [expletive] could drop," Cardi continued. "So I would have to cut myself. And I'm not cutting myself. I'm not sitting down for four months. I'm outside, like I said. I like my body how it looks right now. I'm comfortable in my skin."

"I'm very, very honest," she added of her transparency with the public. "First of all, I got two lipos and one [expletive] reduction." She noted that she opted to reduce the effects of her injections partly because of her petite build.

"First thing first, I am a small girl," she shared. "I'm a very small, petite girl. My mom is petite. My sister's petite. My aunts are small." The rapper then turned her attention to critics who scrutinize her body.

"Y'all acting like y'all new to this," she added. "Y'all been seeing my body for how many years now? Too many." Cardi credited her physique to diet and lifestyle choices, emphasizing balanced meals over drastic measures.

Brushing off comments that she looks unusually toned, she made clear the results come from effort, not secrecy, and offered to share exactly how she stays in shape.

Cardi revealed that her routine includes grilled chicken, grilled salmon, and fiber-rich drinks, while urging fans never to starve themselves to alter their appearance. "That's what I do. I'm being as honest as possible," she added.

The "WAP" artist previously discussed her removal journey back in 2024.

"In January, right after I shot 'Like What,' I went and got surgery," she said during a September 2024 Instagram Live. "I got some more butt injections removed because you know it takes rounds to get your butt injections removed, and I also went to fix certain things with my fibrosis."

Although she considered reducing her figure further earlier this year, the mother of four — who shares a 4-month-old son with Stefon Diggs, along with kids Kulture, 8, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 22 months, with estranged husband Offset — ultimately decided against it.
