Katy Perry is looking back on a turbulent year — but from a much stronger place. The singer-songwriter recently premiered her new concert movie, "The Lifetimes Tour — Live from Paris," at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

During a post-screening Q&A, she reflected on the hardships she faced following her split from ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares five-year-old daughter Daisy.

"Last year was probably one of the hardest years of my life and I went through a [expletive]-ton," she said candidly. "And there were days that were really, really, really hard, and I just kept going because I made a promise to my fans, I made a promise to my daughter, I made a promise to myself."

She didn't stop there. "And I got through it," Perry added. "I walked through the fire because everybody has to walk through their own fire. And if you're walking through hell, you keep going, because on the other side of hell is definitely heaven."

The star also touched on what the experience had taught her about getting older. "Your 20s are for emotions, your 30s are for sorting them and your 40s are for [expletive] not caring about them," she said.

"We're all human in here. Sadness does not discriminate, grief does not discriminate, pain does not discriminate… everybody is subjected to it in their own ways."

Perry and Bloom confirmed their separation in 2025 after nearly a decade together. The two first crossed paths at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016 and began dating shortly after. They briefly parted ways in early 2017, then rekindled their romance the following year.

On Valentine's Day 2019, Bloom proposed, and the couple welcomed Daisy in 2020. For a time, everything seemed to be going from strength to strength — until last July.

"Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting," representatives for the pair said in a joint statement.

"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."

Not long after the split, Perry was spotted on a date with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The sighting set off a wave of speculation, which only grew when Trudeau was seen attending one of her Lifetimes Tour concerts.

The two went public in October, photographed holding hands on Perry's birthday in Paris after an evening at Crazy Horse cabaret. They made their red carpet debut as a couple at Monday's premiere of "The Lifetimes Tour — Live from Paris."

Perry wore a sleeveless white floor-length gown with a draped silhouette and rose-shaped embellishments at the neckline and waist. Her dark hair was worn sleek and pulled back, and she accessorized with a ring and a small clutch.

Trudeau kept it classic in a black suit, white dress shirt, no tie, and black dress shoes.
