April 24, 2026

The actress's jewelry collection includes more than sparkling accessories. Some of her favorite pieces carry a promise of lasting friendship with the women she keeps closest.
Nina Dobrev opened up about the sentimental tradition in a new cover story, sharing how matching rings became a symbol of love and loyalty within her inner circle.

The actress, 37, revealed in a May 27, 2026, cover story for Only Natural Diamonds Magazine that she and four of her industry friends own matching Cartier Love rings. The group includes Julianne Hough and celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri.
The Cartier design is one of the jeweler's most recognizable pieces, with versions retailing between $2,670 and $6,900. Still, for Dobrev, the meaning behind the rings appears to matter more than the price tag. The "Vampire Diaries" alum said the rings represent a lasting promise between the women, revealing:
"We're saying that we'll love each other forever."
Dobrev also revealed that she has another group of friends who share the same Ecksand ring, making the ritual less about one specific piece and more about the bond behind it.
The actress said she loves the people she chooses to surround herself with, explaining that they are all "like-minded" and that the tradition of wearing matching accessories is "a beautiful thing."
Dobrev's comments come after she and Hough previously opened up about their friendship in 2023, sharing that their connection felt natural almost immediately.
The pair were introduced by their mutual hairstylist years earlier and quickly became close. Dobrev said at the time that it felt as if she and Hough had known each other since childhood because their friendship was so easy.

The actress described their bond as playful and full of shared routines, from laughing together and watching movies to spending time with their dogs, getting ready, and going places side by side.
Dobrev also teased that if Hough eventually had children, her own role would simply shift from best friend to babysitter.

She also praised Hough's upbeat personality, saying her friend had an energy that made people want to be around her. Hough felt the same way about Dobrev.
She described their dynamic as a burst of energy and said the "Dog Days" actress was someone who made others feel included and ensured everyone was having fun.

During that same conversation, Dobrev and Hough joked that their lives were already somewhat parental because of their dogs. Hough quipped they were the kind of "moms" who took their pets everywhere, and Dobrev joked:
"Our kids are going to come out on every trip with us. They are going to jump out of planes with us."

Dobrev also teased that if Hough eventually had children, her own role would simply shift from best friend to babysitter. The jokes reflected the easy rhythm of a friendship built on humor, adventure, and deep affection.
Now, Nina Dobrev's matching rings offer another glimpse at how seriously she values the women in her life. For the actress, the pieces are not just jewelry, but small, wearable reminders of the people she plans to love for the long haul.
