Rumer Willis Accused of Exploiting Her 3-Year-Old Daughter by Ex Derek Thomas

Rumer Willis and ex Derek Richard Thomas are locked in a bitter custody battle over their daughter Louetta, with explosive new allegations flying on both sides.

Rumer Willis, the eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, is facing exploitation accusations from her ex, Derek Richard Thomas, amid an ongoing custody dispute over their three-year-old daughter, Louetta.

Thomas filed new court documents denying Willis' abuse claims, which she had outlined in a declaration opposing his child custody order. He further alleged that the actress exploited their daughter by featuring her in a paid commercial containing "adult sexual humor."

The ad in question is widely believed to be a Plant Paper commercial Willis posted to her social media in late March. "Respondent's coordinated media strategy and its harm to Louetta are a serious concern," Thomas' declaration read.

It continued, "On February 22, 2026, I sent Respondent a written objection to Louetta's appearance in paid commercial advertising, noting a specific ad which contained adult sexual humor that was not appropriate context for a two-year-old."

Thomas' filing came in response to Willis' own accusations against him. In a declaration opposing his request for a custody order, she alleged a "persistent pattern" of "insane emotional abuse" dating back to before their 2024 breakup — abuse she said occurred "often in front of the minor child or while they were trapped in the car with him."

Willis, who is seeking primary physical custody of Louetta, further claimed that Thomas engaged in "ongoing coercive control through prolonged circular verbal attacks that he is unable or unwilling to stop" — sometimes lasting "over six hours at a time on what became a daily basis."

She also alleged that his "erratic and bizarre" behavior "escalated" following Louetta's birth in April 2023.

"I was constantly trying to keep the peace and walk on eggshells," she wrote in the filing. "He wanted to isolate me from my friends and family. He constantly called me a liar with no reason behind it. He told me I was a bad girlfriend all the time."

Beyond the emotional abuse claims, Willis raised additional concerns in her declaration, citing Thomas' apparent marijuana use and expressing unease about his now-fiancée, Lizzie Loch, being present during his custodial time — particularly given his alleged "history of fighting in relationships, and in front of the child."

Thomas has denied the allegations, though he acknowledged the relationship was "unhealthy." He admitted to previously using marijuana but maintained that he no longer does and that the drug had never impaired his ability to parent.

Willis and Thomas confirmed their split in August 2024, having dated since 2022. They announced their pregnancy in December of that year and welcomed their daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, on April 18, 2023. Court documents indicate Willis has been pursuing custody since last July.
