In 2021, Gigi Hadid shared her refreshed skincare and makeup routine with Vogue's Beauty Secrets, offering a candid glimpse into how motherhood reshaped her approach to beauty.

Then just four months postpartum, Hadid opened up about the changes in her regimen and the importance of giving herself grace in the midst of new motherhood.

The model explained that while she leaned toward clean, natural products during her pregnancy — favoring Oliveda's olive tree extract-based line — her winter routine called for more intense hydration.

With persistently dry skin, she turned to the Odacité moisturizer for very dry skin, layering it over Dr. Jart+'s Ceramidin Cream. For an added boost, she applied a serum from Odacité and used lip balm right at the beginning of her routine so it could absorb while she worked through the rest.

"I think all-purpose ointments are great," said Hadid, who also used it on dry patches like the tip of her nose and just under her brows. When it came to cleansing, Hadid opted for Cetaphil after long days on set.

"I just feel like it really cleans my skin," she explained, adding that she's always favored drugstore products for their accessibility and effectiveness. For breakouts, she admitted she did her own extractions and occasionally used toothpaste as a spot treatment — something her mother taught her.

Pigmentation changes during pregnancy were one of the most noticeable shifts in her skin, particularly darkening near her eyes. Rather than stress, she embraced it. "I think it's natural," Hadid revealed.

With her skin prepped, the model moved on to makeup — prioritizing a base that felt glowy but not oily. She started with Charlotte Tilbury's Wonderglow Face Primer, blending it with the Hollywood Flawless Filter using her hands for a more seamless, skin-like finish.

Then came Maybelline's Fit Me Matte Poreless Liquid Foundation, which she mixed in with her fingers to maintain a dewy effect. "[...] Your skin is still there," she said, emphasizing the importance of not masking her natural texture.

For concealer, Hadid dabbed it on and let it sit for a bit to thicken — giving her time to move on to her brows. She brushed them through, filled them in with Maybelline's micro pencil, and set them with Patrick Ta's brow wax, which she praised for holding everything in place.

A light dusting of powder followed, then bronzer used strategically as a contour. She applied it in the shape of a three on each side of her face and along her nose in an arrow shape. This trick, she shared, was influenced by fellow model Joan Smalls. Hadid said:

"She taught me to bring my own concealer, and she taught me that no one looks out for you the way that you look out for you."

Hadid's eye look featured a tawny orange shade from the Nudes of New York palette, swept under the brow bone and across the lid. The same color was blended beneath the lower lash line.

She curled her lashes, applied mascara, then followed with blush from Stila and a swipe of highlighter across her cheekbones, nose, and cupid's bow.

Lips were the final touch. After blotting off her balm, Hadid applied Patrick Ta lip liner, shimmering lipstick, and a swipe of Maybelline's Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid. "[...] It really plumps your lips," she noted, appreciating the added shine.

Though the routine was thorough, Hadid reminded viewers to be gentle with themselves. "I'm not a pro," she said. "So, just remind yourself that you're doing the best you can, you're doing amazing, and to just give yourself grace."

Hadid's post-pregnancy beauty routine is less about perfection and more about practicality, confidence, and care. By blending trusted drugstore staples with high-end essentials, she proves that effective skincare doesn't need to be complicated or costly.
