Inside Sofia Richie’s Sweet Bond with Her Daughter as She Awaits Baby No. 2

The media personality, who is currently expecting her second child with her husband, has reveled in her motherhood journey. She first became a mom in 2024 just one year after getting married.

Sofia Richie has announced that she and her husband, music executive Elliot Grainge, are expecting their second baby together. The couple, who tied the knot in April 2023, are already parents to their one-year-old daughter, Eloise.

Richie took to Instagram on Friday, October 17, to share the exciting news. She posted a mirror selfie with her shirt lifted up to reveal her growing baby bump. "On my way to launch these babies 👶🏼 + @srgatelier," she captioned the post.

The image garnered an outpouring of congratulatory messages, including one from her father, Lionel Richie, who commented, "❤️❤️❤️." Richie welcomed her first child on May 20, 2024. She announced the arrival of her baby girl, whose full name is Eloise Samantha Grainge, on Instagram.

The soon-to-be mom of two posted a black-and-white photo of her and Grainge holding the daughter's tiny feet. "Eloise Samantha Grainge 🤍5•20•24 best day of my life🤍," she wrote at the time. What began as the best day of her life has blossomed into a love-filled journey for the model and entrepreneur.

Earlier this year, in July, she opened up about her bond with Eloise. "I think having a daughter made me realize the importance of feeling confident without makeup," Richie said in her Vogue "Beauty Secrets" video.

"I talk to her a lot about that," she continued. "I love how I'm saying I talk to her a lot about that, because she's 1 and she barely speaks, but I am convinced that she can understand me. Therefore, we have deep, deep chats about life."

Richie also shared that one of her favorite things to do with Eloise is sitting down on the floor and applying her makeup, while the toddler acts as her little helper. "She loves it," Richie shared. "She thinks it's like painting on my face."

"But her new thing is she takes the brushes and she does a little painting on her face," she continued. "I don't give her any makeup, I just let her play with the brushes. And she'll hold my products for me and she'll hand them to me when I need them."

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar that same month, Richie revealed that her bond with Eloise helped her through postpartum recovery. "My daughter is just such an amazing girl," the proud mom gushed

"Her spirit, her energy— just how she makes me feel as a parent is so rewarding, So even when I was having a hard time postpartum…it was worth all of the tough times. She's definitely my prize," she said.

Since welcoming Eloise, Richie has shared a few glimpses of their family life on social media. In May, she posted a carousel of images from Eloise's first birthday party — an intimate, picnic-inspired celebration with close friends and family.

"A year ago today my little girl was born," the 27-year-old began in the caption. "I didn't realize her first birthday was going to be such a mix of emotion for me. On one hand it's the most amazing beautiful milestone."

"On the other hand I look back and realize those tiny little moments are something I'll never get back," she continued. Richie expressed that watching Eloise grow "has been a gift." She added, "I don't know what I did to deserve my little buggie, but all I know is my heaven is right here on earth with her 💕so beyond blessed."
