Fans and fellow celebrities alike have flooded social media with messages of support since news of the incident broke. Hilton's team says it's still working to reach him directly as more details emerge.

Perez Hilton was hospitalized after concerned fans called emergency services during the media personality's disturbing TikTok livestream. Police were dispatched to his Florida home on Tuesday night, August 4, after he appeared to harm himself on camera.

Once the livestream ended, graphic clips of the blogger — shirtless and covered in blood — began circulating widely across social platforms. Deputies from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office (MDCSO) confirmed he was "safely recovered" from his residence following the incident.

Authorities said they'd received "multiple calls" reporting "an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media" and dispatched deputies to investigate the situation.

Officers spoke with Hilton's family members, who were present at the scene, and ultimately chose to "tactfully disengage" while continuing to "monitor the situation," after confirming that Hilton, 48, was alone inside the home.

"In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication," a spokesperson for the MDCSO told People.

"Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public," the statement continued.

With backup from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, MDCSO deputies helped transport Hilton to a nearby hospital, where he remains under medical care. The department's Crisis Response Unit and licensed mental health professionals were also on hand, offering support and resources to his family.

Hilton's representatives — Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan — told Page Six in a statement that they "are aware of the concerning content circulating online" involving their client.

"At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him," they added. "Our primary concern is Perez's health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further."

The representatives went on to say they appreciate the outpouring of concern and are asking the public to respect Hilton's privacy during this time.

Shortly before the livestream, Hilton had shared a video in which he wrote, "The devil is trying to bring me down! Old me would be floundering right now. Flailing! I KNOW God now. And love him! Knowing God and having faith are two different things, though."

"I may not understand everything now. But leaning into my faith. And asking for prayers," he added. Hilton didn't elaborate on what he'd been going through, though this marks his third hospitalization of the year.

He was first hospitalized in Las Vegas with severe sepsis back in March. Then in April, he revealed he'd been hospitalized again, this time for a deep vein thrombosis in his right leg.

Following a thrombectomy to remove the clot and several weeks of being bedridden, Hilton shared footage of himself back on his feet on April 7.
