October 05, 2025
The President of the United States reacted to the Puerto Rican rapper being named the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner. The musician also addressed the backlash on "SNL."
President Donald Trump joined Greg Kelly via telephone on Newsmax's "Greg Kelly Reports" on Monday, October 6, where he expressed his disapproval of Bad Bunny headlining next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show.

"Do you think maybe we should just kind of entertain blowing off the NFL like a boycott or something along those lines? This guy does not seem like a unifying entertainer and a lot of folks don't even know who he is," Kelly said of Bad Bunny.
Trump responded, "I never heard of him. I don't know who he is. I don't know why they're doing it. It's like crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it's absolutely ridiculous."
The NFL announced Bad Bunny as a headliner on September 29, sparking a range of reactions — from full-blown backlash to support and excitement from fans. The Puerto Rican singer recently responded to the criticism in his opening monologue on "Saturday Night Live."
"You might not know this, but I'm doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show and I'm very happy," Bad Bunny told the audience. "I think everyone is happy about it — even Fox News." The segment then cut to a satirical video montage of Fox News hosts praising the "MONACO" hitmaker.
"Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president," they all said in the spoof clip. The rapper continued, saying he was "really excited" to be headlining the Super Bowl and that he knew his fans around the globe were also happy.
He then switched to Spanish, his native tongue, to speak to his community directly before ending on a playful note in English: "And, if you didn't understand what I just said, you have four months to learn!"
