Users Say 'The Best Team in Football' Will Win Super Bowl 2025
February 06, 2025
The football player became a father just as he was drafted into the National Football League. Since then, he has welcomed another child and is now preparing to exchange vows.
Saquon Barkley, a running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, is not only a force on the field but also a devoted family man. He is engaged to Anna Congdon, and they have two children together.
Barkley's dedication isn't limited to his family—his focus is now on a career-defining moment. He is set to play in the NFL Championship on February 9, 2025—his 28th birthday—as the Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs.
Partnering with Flipz for its "Flipz Up Your Game Day" campaign, the athlete said he's in "Super Bowl mode." "The best birthday gift you can have is playing [in the] Super Bowl, and the only thing better than that is winning," he further stated.
Focused solely on delivering his best performance, he admits he never expected it would take seven years to reach this stage. After being drafted second overall by the New York Giants in 2018 and joining the Eagles in 2024, Barkley believes his younger self would be "super proud" of how far he has come.
Barkley's journey to this moment has been anything but easy. Reflecting on the challenges he has faced, he acknowledged the setbacks and injuries that tested his perseverance.
“Not just being here but the adversities and the injuries and never quitting,” he divulged. A lesson from his father has stayed with him since childhood, "'You quit one thing in life, you're going to be a quitter for the rest of your life.'"
While proud of how far he has come, his mindset remains locked on one goal. "The dream wasn't just to get into the Super Bowl. It is to win it," the New York native added.
His excitement isn't just about the big game—his latest collaboration with Flipz is a personal one. A longtime fan of chocolate-covered pretzels, Barkley shared that he has been enjoying the snack for a "very long time."
His longtime partner, Anna Congdon, and their children—six-year-old Jada and two-year-old Saquon Jr.—joined him in filming a playful commercial for the brand at their home in Philadelphia.
"I don't know if you really can name a better snack out there," he shared, adding that it's even more special now that his kids love it too. Sharing Flipz with his children is special for Barkley, whose journey as a father began just days after being drafted.
In April 2018, he and Congdon welcomed their daughter, Jada. The first-time mom announced the news on Instagram, "when two became three...[sic]." Though he was "100 percent sure" they were having a boy, Barkley's fiancée believed otherwise, so they prepared ten names for each for each possibility.
At the time, the doting father felt "honored" and "blessed" to be a dad, knowing he would set the standard for his daughter's image of a man. Years later, that bond has only grown stronger—today, Jada is considered his biggest fan.
Online users have gushed over his eldest child. One wrote, "Looks just like her Daddy." Another said, "Sooo cute! Saquon is a lucky man!" Someone else commented, "Oh myyy!! She is oh so beautiful!" while another added, "She really Saquon twin [sic]."
Fatherhood continued to shape Barkley's life when he and Congdon welcomed their son, Saquon Jr., in September 2022. The family affectionately calls him S.J.
"Beautiful baby," he shared at the time. "He lights up the room. Amazing smile. Jada is being an amazing big sister. Anna, obviously, an amazing mom. We've got a beautiful little family."
As Barkley cherishes life with his growing family, milestones continue both on and off the field. In January 2025, the family of four celebrated the NFC title, and recently, he announced his engagement to Congdon. The two met at Penn State in 2017 and have been together ever since.
"I can't be the athlete I am and have the success I have...without the help of her. She's been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life," the football star stated.
Their journey together, now strengthened by two children, has brought them even closer, "We just sit back and laugh sometimes...smile and think about where everything started."
Acknowledging those who have stood by him, he added, "I'd be naive to think...all the stuff that we are able to accomplish this year was all alone and by myself."

Online reactions to Barkley's fiancée have been filled with praise, with many highlighting her appearance. One user said, "Natural beauty girl!!! And you look even better after babies!!"
Another echoed, "A natural beauty for sure—it seems hard to come by these days & you rock the look—never change!" A third commented, "Classic beauty."
With his biggest game ahead, Barkley’s life is thriving both professionally and personally. His journey to the Super Bowl has been defined by years of dedication, overcoming injuries, and staying committed to the dream that started long before his NFL career.
Through it all, his fiancée and children have been his greatest motivation, standing by him as he balances the demands of football with the joys of fatherhood.
Now, as he prepares for this milestone moment, he remains focused on the ultimate goal—winning. With a strong support system and a legacy still unfolding, Barkley continues to prove that success isn’t just measured in championships but in the impact he makes on and off the field.
