Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani may have ended their marriage years ago, but they remain connected through their three children. The former couple shares sons Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.

While they continue to co-parent, Rossdale says their relationship today is defined by distance rather than close collaboration.

A Co-Parenting System That Works

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital published on March 30, Rossdale described the nature of his co-parenting arrangement with Stefani. While both remain committed to their children, their interactions are minimal.

"It is an interesting kind of [dynamic]," Gavin said. "It's a two-lane highway, but they don't ever seem to merge, which is fine."

Rossdale’s analogy highlights a relationship that runs in parallel rather than together. Both parents are present and involved, but they operate independently. For Rossdale, that structure appears to be effective.

He added that Stefani is "probably doing the best she can, and I'm doing the best I can." He continued, "I'm a proud proponent of the system. It's fine."

Life After Their Split

Rossdale and Stefani ended their marriage in 2015 after nearly 13 years together. Since then, both have moved forward with their lives while maintaining a shared focus on raising their children.

Despite the passage of time, Rossdale has remained careful about how he speaks publicly about his ex-wife. He avoids negative commentary and emphasizes respect, particularly given their shared role as parents.

He has made it clear that he values Stefani as the mother of his children and prefers not to discuss her in a way that could create tension. That approach aligns with the low-contact dynamic he described in his interview.

Keeping the Focus on Fatherhood

Rather than dwell on the past, Rossdale has shifted his attention toward his role as a father. He has spoken about the importance of being present and reliable for his children.

At one point, he described himself as "consistent," acknowledging that while he has flaws, he strives to show up for his kids. That sense of responsibility appears to guide his approach to both parenting and co-parenting.

By staying in his lane, as he suggests, Rossdale maintains stability in his family life. His comments indicate that consistency matters more to him than maintaining a close personal relationship with Stefani.

Respect Without Closeness

Rossdale’s remarks offer a candid look at a co-parenting style that may not be traditional but works for those involved. There is no suggestion of conflict, but there is also no illusion of closeness.

Instead, the arrangement is built on mutual respect and a shared understanding of responsibilities. Each parent contributes in their own way, without overlapping too much in the other’s space.

For some families, that kind of separation might create challenges. For Rossdale and Stefani, it appears to provide clarity and balance.

Rossdale’s perspective on co-parenting reflects a practical approach shaped by time and experience. While his relationship with Gwen Stefani may no longer be personal, it remains functional and focused on their children.
