The Children’s Role in Royal Events

Prince George and Princess Charlotte began attending the Easter service in recent years. Prince Louis later joined the tradition.

Their appearances at public events are typically limited to key occasions, including Easter and Christmas services.

The children have also attended Christmas church services with the royal family at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham estate.

A Return to the Easter Tradition

The Wales family’s attendance marked a return to the Easter service after spending the holiday privately in recent years. They did not attend following Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis, choosing to remain out of the public eye during that time.

The family later continued to celebrate Easter away from the larger royal gathering after Princess Kate shared that she was in remission.

Private Easter Celebrations

During their time away from Windsor, the Wales family spent Easter at their Norfolk country home. The property is often used by the family during school breaks and for private time away from official duties.

The family has previously shared that their Easter celebrations at home include an egg hunt.

Absences From the Gathering

Some members of the royal family did not attend the service. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were not present and have kept a low profile. Prince Andrew stepped back from public duties following his BBC interview about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein but has continued to attend some family events.
