BTS has become a global force in music, known for its dynamic performances and loyal fanbase. Each member brings a distinct identity and role, shaping the group’s sound and success while helping expand its influence across cultures and generations.
BTS, also known as "Bangtan Sonyeondan" or "Bulletproof Boys," debuted in 2013 and grew into one of the world’s most influential music groups. The seven-member band includes RM, SUGA, j-hope, Jin, V, Jung Kook, and Jimin.

After a hiatus in 2022 to complete mandatory military service, BTS resumed group activities, including the release of "ARIRANG" and a global stadium tour.
BTS has topped charts worldwide with its music and built a dedicated fanbase known as ARMY. The group has collaborated with major artists and expanded its global reach through consistent releases and performances.
Here is a closer look at each member.

RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, is the group’s leader and main rapper. Born on September 12, 1994, in Ilsan, South Korea, he began rapping at a young age.
He performed in Korea’s underground rap scene before joining Big Hit Entertainment in 2010 as BTS’s first member. RM is fluent in English and has credited the show "Friends" for helping him learn the language.
He released "Indigo" in December 2022 and "Right Place, Wrong Person" in May 2024. He completed his military service in June 2025. He has also worked as a brand ambassador for Bottega Veneta and Samsung Art TVs.

Jin, born Kim Seokjin on December 4, 1992, in Gwacheon, South Korea, is one of the group’s main vocalists. He is often referred to as "Worldwide Handsome."
He joined BTS in 2013 and later graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in acting and art. He also created content such as the food web series "Eat Jin."
Jin released "The Astronaut" in October 2022. After completing his military service in June 2024, he released his album "Happy" in November 2024, followed by "Echo" in 2025. He has partnered with brands including Gucci, FRED, Alo Yoga, Jin Ramen, and Laneige, and launched his own alcohol line, IGIN.
SUGA, whose real name is Min Yoongi, was born on March 9, 1993, in Daegu, South Korea. Before joining BTS, he worked as an underground rapper and producer.
He also releases solo work under the name Agust D. His album "D-Day" was released in 2023 prior to his enlistment. He completed military service in June 2025.
SUGA also produced and featured on Psy’s song "That That" in April 2022. He has also served as a brand ambassador for Valentino and the NBA.
j-hope, born Jung Hoseok on February 18, 1994, in Gwangju, South Korea, is a rapper, dancer, songwriter, and producer.
He began as a dancer before joining Big Hit Entertainment in 2010. He released his debut album "Jack in the Box" in 2022 and previously released the EP "Hope World" in 2018.
He headlined Lollapalooza 2022, becoming the first South Korean artist to headline a major U.S. music festival. He completed his military service in October 2024. J-hope has also partnered with brands such as Audemars Piguet, Human Made, and Louis Vuitton.
Jimin, born Park Jimin on October 13, 1996, in Busan, South Korea, is a main dancer and vocalist. He joined BTS in 2012 as the final member.
He released his solo album "Face" in March 2023, which included "Like Crazy," a song that topped the Billboard Hot 100. He followed it with "Muse" in July 2024.
Jimin completed his military service in June 2025. He has worked with brands including Dior, Tiffany & Co., and Lador.
V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, was born on December 30, 1995, in Daegu, South Korea. He joined BTS after being scouted during an audition.
He has also appeared in the drama "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth." His debut solo album, "Layover," was released in September 2023. He has collaborated with brands such as Celine, Cartier, Coca-Cola, TIRTIR, and Compose Coffee.
Jung Kook, born Jeon Jungkook on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea, is the group’s youngest member. He is often called the "Golden Maknae."
He released his debut album "Golden" in November 2023, featuring songs such as "Seven," "3D," and "Standing Next to You." He completed his military service in June 2025. He has partnered with brands including Calvin Klein, Hublot, Godiva, and Chanel Beauty.
