Nicole Kidman Spotted for the First Time Since Filing for Divorce from Keith Urban
October 02, 2025
Keith Urban's recent choices, including parting ways with his longtime band and separating from Nicole Kidman, have led those close to the couple to suggest the 57-year-old musician may be experiencing a midlife crisis.
Close friends and associates of Keith Urban are reportedly interpreting his recent choices as more than just personal reinvention. According to TMZ, people close to both Urban and Nicole Kidman believe the country star may be navigating a midlife crisis.
The same source claimed that the 57-year-old rocker has been making a series of confusing choices, with his separation from his wife of 19 years being the most recent.
Those same insiders note that Urban made a startling move earlier this year by parting ways with his longtime band. "Our sources say Urban fired his whole band – with whom he'd been playing for 25 years – back in January, a few months after he released his album 'High.'"
The album, while celebrated in some circles, did not achieve major success in the United States and ranked modestly in Australia. It also fell short compared to the commercial impact of his earlier work.
Perhaps the most unexpected turn came when Urban decided to end his 19-year marriage to Kidman, despite her desire to maintain the relationship. TMZ reports, "Nicole and Keith have been living apart since the beginning of the summer ... with Nicole taking care of the kids and 'holding the family together through this difficult time.'"
Kidman formally filed for divorce earlier this week, requesting primary custody of their children. Legal documents indicate that the kids will reside with her for 306 days of the year.
Further fueling speculation, sources close to the couple have suggested that Urban may have already begun a new romantic chapter. Rumors intensified after a video from an April performance in Las Vegas surfaced, showing Urban pointing and singing to his guitarist, Maggie Baugh.
