EST Gee's Career from Footballer to Rapper

Before he gained international acclaim as a rapper, Gee was a standout first-team all-state athlete and had a chance at playing football professionally.

He had 98 solo tackles in high school and five forced fumbles, but things changed before he left university. While he was waiting to make the roster for one of the professional sports leagues, they cut him during the preseason.

Gee soon dropped out of the university after 68 credits and decided to follow a career in rap. Unfortunately, shortly after dropping out, he was arrested on drug trafficking charges after being caught with 12 pounds of drugs.

The court charged him with ten years in prison but released him on probation in 2017. After his release, he began making music as the charges had taken him off financial aid.

In an interview in 2020, the rapper revealed that the experience has helped his rap career improve as he has something to say to the world. However, he still had three more years left at the time.

Gee released two mixtapes in 2019, respectively, but only gained mainstream attention in 2020 with the release of his third mixtape, quickly followed by his fourth mixtape within the year.

In January 2021, he signed a deal with Collective Music Group. He has collaborated with stars like Lil Baby, Yo Gotti, Future, and Young Thug, among others.
