Like Ricciardo, Heidi grew up watching her dad race, but she followed in her mom's footsteps. Heidi's acting career took off when she was selected to star in a Portuguese soap, "A Única Mulher," in 2015 when she was 18.

Her first role was followed in 2017 by the German series, "Trakehnerblut," and in 2018 by another Portuguese production, "Onde Está Elisa," a TV series about the disappearance of a businessman's young daughter.

Heidi, who has a younger sister, Sara, spent her childhood holidays in her mother's native Portugal. She loves dogs and going to the beach.

Despite never winning the championship, Gerhart was always a great favorite with race fans and a close friend and McLaren team-mate of legendary Brazilian F1 driver Ayrton Senna.

Gerhart was present at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix in Italy in which Senna died while qualifying for the race, in the same corner where the Australian had crashed in 1989.

Gerhart is a proud dad who supports his daughter's work as an actress and a model. Gerhart and Ana divorced in 2013.

In August 2022, Ricciardo finally settled rumors that he was dating Heidi Berger to rest: he confirmed them on Instagram. The fans had been buzzing about a possible relationship since October 2021, but the notoriously private driver kept mum.

Ricciardo shared a series of snaps on Instagram and a video that showed the couple hiking in the mountains in California. On the Fitzy and Wippa podcast, Ricciardo admitted:
